How to Adopt from The Sanctuary

Thank you for choosing to adopt your new family member from The Sanctuary at Haafsville. We'd be delighted to help you make the right match and adopt an animal.  We will make every effort to ensure that the adoption experience will be positive for you, your household members and your new pet.

We are open every Saturday from 10:00am - 2:00pm ET with the following hours:

DOG Open Hours – Saturdays 10am – 2pm

**Please do not bring your own dogs**

CAT Open Hours for previously scheduled appointments – Saturdays 10am – 12pm

CAT Open Hours without appointments – Saturdays 12pm – 2pm

Please understand we need to operate in accordance with CDC guidelines. There is a high probability of an extended wait time as we need to limit the number of people in the building at one time. Visitors will be allowed in on a first come/first served basis.

This is a great opportunity to meet our resident animals and the Sanctuary Volunteers and get to know more about our animals and Us!

Not all our animals are kept at the shelter but are cared for by our wonderful Foster families-so if you want to meet or confirm whether a particular animal will be at the shelter for our adoption events, please call us in advance

Adoption payment is required before taking an animal home.  We accept Cash or Credit Card for adoption fees. All our animals are fully up to date on shots when leaving The Sanctuary and are ready for your home.

Shelby
Shelby is a gorgeous tortoiseshell cat with primarily rust colored fur and a splash of black. This provides her with a very unique look. Her fur is also very soft which is great for snuggling. This is perfect since Shelby is a very affectionate cat. Shelby has no problem claiming your lap for as long as you will let her. True to her tortoiseshell nature, Shelby does have a bit of sass and will let you know when she is ready for your attention. She can be a bit feisty with other cats and is recommended to be the only cat in a home. Shelby will need a family who is willing to accept and love her as she is - cattitude and all.
Shelby is 5 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV, litter trained and microchipped.
