How to Adopt from The Sanctuary

Thank you for choosing to adopt your new family member from The Sanctuary at Haafsville. We'd be delighted to help you make the right match and adopt an animal.  We will make every effort to ensure that the adoption experience will be positive for you, your household members and your new pet.

We are open every Saturday from 10:00am - 2:00pm ET for Adoption Days!  This is a great opportunity to meet our resident animals and the Sanctuary Volunteers and get to know more about our animals and Us!

Not all our animals are kept at the shelter but are cared for by our wonderful Foster families-so if you want to meet or confirm whether a particular animal will be at the shelter for our adoption events, please call us in advance

Adoption payment is required before taking an animal home.  We accept Cash or Credit Card for adoption fees. All our animals are fully up to date on shots when leaving The Sanctuary and are ready for your home.

What types of animals do you offer?

Dogs

Our Dogs are vetted with shots and spay/neuter and ready to join your family. Lots of love all come standard.

Cats

We have young and adult Cats and Kittens for adoption.  Cats and Kittens must leave The Sanctuary in a carrier.

Looking for a Puppy?

Looking for a Puppy? Our volunteers look forward to helping you find a wonderful new family member. Since puppies are always in high demand, the first step in the puppy adoption process is to complete and submit the guardianship application. Applications and emails are viewed in the order they are received. As volunteers, we may not respond to all requests, as the volume of inquires can be high, but we do our best to reply promptly to all those interested in bringing a puppy into their home. Puppies are up to date on vaccines appropriate for the age, flea treated, and dewormed. Spaying/Neutering is required when age ready.

Email your guardianship application to: puppyadoptions@thesanctuarypa.org

Adoption Spotlight

Poor Charlene keeps getting passed up on adoption day. No matter how much charm and love she shows visitors, others are chosen. Charlene is a lap cat who will snuggle up to your neck and give you kitty kisses. She is an alpha cat who wants your undivided attention - so she will not tolerate other cats in the home well. As an only cat, she will be an excellent companion. Charlene is about 5 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for felv and litter trained. Please stop out and visit Charlene during our Saturday adoption hours at the Sanctuary between 10am and 2pm. Direct adoption inquiries to Kathy at
