Some of our most loving animals have become long-term shelter residents because they have special needs. The Sanctuary does not give up on our cats and dogs — we are committed to providing love, care, and enrichment in a safe place.
We realize everyone can not adopt, foster, or volunteer, but you can still make a huge difference! Sponsoring a cat or dog is a great way to show your love and support for a cat or dog in our care.
Your sponsorship can help us care for these special needs animals until they find a forever loving home.
As a monthly sponsor, you will receive
A profile of the animal, including their rescue story and recent pictures
Regular updates and photos on the activities of the cat or dog, including the special events and enrichments they experience
All of these perfectly imperfect pets are looking for sponsors:
When Murray arrived at the Sanctuary as a young puppy from an inner-city animal
control center, it was believed he had hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD), a painful
condition often found in large-breed dogs affecting growth plates in joints. HOD usually
resolves as dogs grow. As we got to know him, we learned something was different.
Murray has a rare autoimmune disorder (still a bit of a mystery) that requires lifelong
medical care. These days, Murray has frequent veterinary follow-ups, takes specialized
medications, eats a raw diet, and is being lovingly cared for in a foster home where his
health can be closely monitored.
He’s still very much a puppy—curious, sweet, and determined to enjoy every day with
cuddling and playing with other dogs in his foster home.
As a sponsor, you can help us ensure Murray receives the care he needs to live his best
life. Your sponsorship allows second chances to lead to a forever happy after.
Greyanna is a spunky three-year-old cat who came to us from another rescue after suffering an untreated traumatic injury, along with congenital deformities affecting her lower legs. Together, these challenges give her an adorable little wobble when she walks and contribute to bowel and bladder incontinence. Yet what makes Greyanna so special is her remarkable resilience. She approaches every day with joy, determination, and an unwavering belief that everyone she meets is a friend. Rather than letting her limitations define her, Greyanna has made them part of her charm. Her resilient spirit, affectionate nature, and ability to find happiness in every moment are just a few of the many reasons she is so easy to love.
