Catty

If someone is described as catty, you’ll want to avoid them. Why would you befriend someone who is nasty, hurtful and spiteful?
This beautiful girl’s name is Catty but it does not define who she is. Quite the opposite, Catty is friendly, kind, gentle, curious, and affectionate. She is often found in the window - gazing out and enjoying the sunbeam. Catty does not mind if another feline buddy joins her on the window ledge. She also enjoys attention from the shelter volunteers. Come adopt this good girl and learn that Catty is actually synonymous with joy and love.

Ellie

Grumpy Cat. Lil Bub. Venus the Two-Faced Kitten. That white cat with the yelling woman in the meme. Could Ellie and magnificent nose be the next feline sensation to sweep the internet? She is truly one of a kind!

So I can't guarantee that Ellie will bring you global fame. I can't even guarantee you that Ellie will retain her large nose. However, I can assure you that Ellie will bring you genuine companionship. She loves hanging out with people and being part of the action. She loves attention and petting. She is curious and loving, perfect for a feline friend! Between her quirky looks and sweet personality, we think she is irresistible! I would totally follow her on Instagram.

Ellie came to us with an oversized nose. We did have it biopsied and it is benign. It may get smaller in time or it may stay the magnificent schnoz that it currently is. Either way, she is just perfect!

Ellie is 12 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Emerald

Emerald is certainly a beauty - but please consider her personality before deciding she might be the one for you. Emerald is a quiet girl who is fine with the other free roaming cats. She doesn’t cause any trouble. Emerald is independent and is often relaxing in a cubby or hut by herself. When it’s quiet, she is more adventurous and playful - she enjoys batting around a spring toy. Emerald typically runs away if you try to pet her. She is still learning to trust but she’ll get there. Emerald will need adopters who are patient and will accept her as she is. Emerald may never be a cuddly cat, but she still deserves a secure and loving home.

Emerald is 2 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Holly

Holly is a single mom who did a great job raising her little guy. She took care of him when they were outside and resources were scarce. She protected him from harm. She snuggled him and made him feel safe, even in an overwhelming new setting when they first arrived at the shelter. Holly was everything that a mom needs to be: loving, brave, and selfless.

Sweet Holly is now at the Sanctuary, ready for her forever home. Her kitten is older and in a foster home, socializing with other kittens his age. Holly no longer has to worry about finding food. Holly doesn't have to be concerned about foxes or cars or the bitter cold. Holly finally has love and stability.

She is still nervous and hides because that is the life she knew. However, when you take time to sit down with her, petting her and getting to know her, you can see what a wonderful cat she truly is.

Holly is 6 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped.

Lily

Lily was relinquished to the Sanctuary at Haafsville after her mom went to a nursing home. Lily is not happy at the shelter and does not get along with the other cats. As a result, she needs to stay in a cage. Lily really needs a loving home where she is the only pet. She will thrive in a quiet home with people who love her.

Lily is 8 to 9 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Lyric

Sit back, think of a song, one with lyrics that resonate with you, with how you’re feeling. We all have that lyric that sticks with you - your favorite lyric…

Just for example, some that may resonate with the cats at the shelter:
“It’s so easy to laugh, it’s so easy to hate. It takes guts to be gentle and kind”-
The Smiths
“Can the dark side light my way out?” –Selfless, The Strokes
“If it wasn’t for disappointment, I wouldn’t have any appointments.” –
They Might Be Giants

The volunteers favorite Lyric is the quiet one. The one that sits in the corner. Often with another friend.
She wants to be friendly, she wants to be loved. Maybe she is afraid that her world will be turned upside down again.

Lyric came to the shelter with other friends from the same home. Her parents are no longer around. She is not sure what to make of the shelter and the other cats around her, so she hides away. While the radio plays the catchy tunes, Lyrics are more of a quiet melody. When the lights are out and it’s quiet, you can hear her song sung. She seeks attention but gets scared away by the cats with stronger personalities.

This Lyric is beautiful. This Lyric is lovely. This Lyric wants to be your favorite one.

Lyric is around 5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FIV/FeLV, litter box trained and microchipped.

Midnight

If you think midnight is a good time to adopt a cat, you probably aren't alone.
Though I'm not sure there are any shelters open at midnight....

Typically, midnight is the start of a new day. Where PM becomes AM. Time for new beginnings, time for a new day, time for another cat.

Midnight is new to the shelter and is very slowly adjusting. Her parents recently passed away and she has been seeing her brothers and sisters get adopted into new homes, but she doesn't have the confidence to tell someone she has picked them yet.

She likes attention, but won't seek it out. She loves food and treats and being told she is a good girl. She just won't shout out that she does.

Midnight's new day is coming. Even if we are more confident of it than she is.

Check the time on your computer or phone. No matter what it says rest assured, it's Midnight...and if you adopt her- it will always be time for Midnight.

Midnight is 5 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Miley

Poor Miley needs a new loving home after her owner passed away. She is adjusting fine to the shelter environment but she really needs a good home soon. Miley is a very good girl who is sweet, gentle, curious, quiet, and very affectionate. Miley does not seem bothered by the other friendly cats at the shelter. Miley would thrive in a quiet, low activity home with people who will shower her with kindness and love.

Miley is 6 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Missy

Take a look at our little Missy
Not yet kissy but not at all hissy
Missy is a bit shy and will likely hide
Just being honest, can’t claim we lied
She may grumble and whine
Truly she just needs patience and time
Good with other cats and would prefer to have a feline friend
With your care, her timid ways will surely end
In a good home, she will thrive and learn to trust
Being her paw-rents is not a want but a must
Missy was a mom but those days are now done
Ready to be carefree, spoiled and have some fun
Petite, pretty and soft - a true doll
Adopt her - send an email or give us a call

Missy is 4 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Neema

Neema is a beautiful girl with the softest fur and most stunning eyes. She is certainly photogenic. Please consider Neema’s personality before wanting to adopt her based on her appearance only. Neema arrived at the shelter as an unclaimed stray. She was scared and very reserved with people. Neema was placed in a special room where she can enjoy a more peaceful environment and receive enrichment from our volunteers. She has made so much progress. Neema is more trusting, confident and accepts gentle petting. She is fine with the other cats.

** Neema would thrive in a quiet, low activity home. The adopter will need to understand that Neema will likely hide and need a good deal of patience while she transitions to yet another new environment.

Neema is 10 months old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, little trained and microchipped

Olive

Olive is a cute and sweet kitten. She enjoys playing, wrestling and snuggling with her sisters, Lucy and Chloe. Pixie

Pixie is an adorable senior cat who was recently relinquished to the Sanctuary at Haafsville because a family member was allergic. She is adjusting to shelter life but she really needs a loving home for her golden years. Pixie seeks attention and “chirps” when she wants petting. Pixie is very lively and interactive - it’s hard to believe she’s a senior cat. She is ok with other cats however the most successful adoption would be where she is the only cat. Pixie would enjoy being the queen of your castle.
