Alfie

What’s it all about, Alfie ??
Well that’s a silly question … it’s all about me of course - Alfie !!
Here’s my sad but true story - I am at the shelter because my previous family found me to be overly affectionate. I’m guilty of loving them too much. So here I am at the shelter and the volunteers are helplessly falling in love with me. And why not ? I am smart, silly, confident, playful and simply irresistible. I am fine with the other cats. I’m an adorable ball of floof. Can you handle all my love, cuteness and floof ? If you’re up for the challenge, please apply to adopt me today. I’ll be ready and waiting.

I am 2 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped.

Cheddar

We have a fresh arrivals and he’s been processed for adoption.
Would it be cheesy to tell you how “grate” Cheddar is? Isn’t your heart just melting? Don’t be Provolonely. Don’t be blue. Adopt this curds soon. He really is a gouda boy. He is mild, not sharp or salty. You’ll just love him and he’ll be really fondue you too. Find your whey to the Sanctuary at Haafsville to meet him. You’ll want him in your cottage.

Cheddar has aged beautifully for 4 years. He is healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped.

Cicada

Cicada’s foster mom says…
Cicada arrived when I needed a friend for Cricket. He came from the streets of Philly, so he was used to pooping on concrete so litter box training was interesting. No accidents since April! He would run at the sight of me but he was awful at hiding. He is quick and would literally jump over me to avoid being touched. Once I was able to corner him or hold him, after literally 3 pets, he’d be purring. I knew he loved being loved but he didn’t want to admit it… After being contained in our smaller room, he started building confidence. He is incredibly food motivated. He’ll stand up on two legs and grab your hand for treats. He never growled, hissed, swatted, or meowed with me. He’s a quiet boy (despite the bug being loud) I finally heard him chirp when in the carrier in the car twice. He’s the awkward cat that doesn’t know how to cat, for lack of better words. When I’d have a wand out, he’d go after the stick, not the toy. If I tossed a toy, he’d watch it, confused. He loves to tumble with Cricket, and his absolute favorite toy is the tiered toy with balls the spin around. He loves anything with feathers too. Now, when I enter the room, he greets me and will weave between my feet. He loves attention and cuddles, but when he’s had enough, he’ll simply walk away. He’ll sit down from afar, look at you, and continue purring. Cicada is such a sweet boy, and I know he’s going to be an amazing companion. He’s so innocent and gentle!

Cicada is 6 months old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Cricket

Cricket’s foster mom says…
Cricket is my feisty boy with a broken heart. He came to me after being caught in a feral colony. I knew he had a stressful past and didn’t trust people because he was caught as a “teen” cat. He has made tremendous strides with me. From his first week, he would run at the sight of me, hide in the tiniest spaces, and if I found him, he’d hiss to try to scare me away. To his surprise, I was more stubborn than him. I kept petting through the growls and hisses until he’d give up. It didn’t take that long to eventually get purrs from him. He loves butt scratches - rough! Once I get him purring, he loves ear scratches, back scratches, even belly rubs. He becomes incredibly affectionate once you get his purr motor turned on. He shoves his face into your hand and he’ll want pets all day. I typically find him in comfy beds up high. He also loves treats. He’s willing to do almost anything for them. Cricket comes to me for food now, and he’ll let me pet him while he eats. He loves to play - so much so, I bought automatic pet toys to keep him entertained while I work. He’ll chase lasers, wands, toy nice, anything. He gets scared when restricted or trapped. He breaks my heart. I know he has so much potential to be a nice boy, but he’s so scared. He seems to love cats, and he chirps when he sees new ones!

Cricket is about 6 months old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Daniel

Daniel is certainly a handsome boy but please consider his personality before deciding he might be the one for you. Daniel is a very skittish boy. He is not yet receptive to human attention and petting. He will be near you but runs away if you try to interact or pet him. Daniel befriends the other cats. He would be perfect if you’re looking for a buddy for an existing cat but you yourself don’t necessarily need Daniel’s affection. Daniel is quiet and does not cause any trouble. We are certain there is a family who will understand Daniel and accept him as he is. Daniel deserves a safe and loving home too.

Daniel is about 1 year old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Fig

Fig is a sweet and salty fellow.
The Sweet: Fig is friendly and enjoys people. He is stunning with his long, shiny black coat. Fig knows he’s gorgeous and expects recognition through praise, pets, cuddles and smooches. Fig has great jumping skills which he demonstrates when snagging feather wand toys in mid air. Fig is a swift and graceful runner. He is smart, curious, alert and delightful. You can’t help but smile in the presence of Fig.

The Salty: Fig excels at antagonizing other cats with his disapproving glance, grumbling, swatting and eventual chase. It pleases him to see other cats scamper for safety. He can be a bully and is quite proud of it. Therefore, the most successful adoption would be where he is the only cat in the home.

Fig is 2 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained, and microchipped

Garfunkel

Garfunkel arrived at the Sanctuary at Haafsville with his buddy, Simon. Like the group, Simon and Garfunkel are both now solo. Simon found a great home and Garfunkel is still waiting. Garfunkle has assumed the role of security guard to the utility room at the shelter. He is very curious and wants to explore that area. He can get frustrated when he is denied his way. Garfunkel is fine with friendly cats but isn’t afraid to jump in the middle of cat fights. He is little but fearless and feisty. Garfunkel would be happy in a home with room to roam and listen to “The Sound of Silence”. Adopt Garfunkel and he’ll “Only Have Eyes for You”.

Garfunkle is 3 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped.

Inubob

Inubob is a strange name for a very cool cat. He was transferred from another overcrowded shelter. Inubob made himself right at home in his new environment. He is very friendly, outgoing, silly, playful and affectionate. He greets volunteers seeking affection and gives the best head boops. Inubob gets along with the other cats. He will be an outstanding companion for some lucky adopter.

Inubob is 9 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped.
***He has a bobtail from an old injury - he does not like having his back end touched as it may be very sensitive.

Lars

Many of the volunteers have a difference of opinion on what band is the best. Some like the Beatles, others would keep trucking with the Grateful Dead.
Some like bands with silly names like Oingo Boingo. Some prefer those with a little more down south twang.
But the cats all seem to agree that 30 Seconds to Lars is a great band!
Or wait, should it be 30 seconds to decide to adopt Lars?
Then again why is this even a question?
In 30 seconds you could be pulling up and filling out an application.
In 30 seconds you could be sending a picture of Lars to the rest of your family and getting agreements to adopt him.
In 30 seconds you could be one step closer to Lars.

Lars is around 4 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped. He is rather timid, but does not hide. He would need a proper introduction to other cats in the home (if there are any).

Puddle

Don't you hate it when you step in a puddle? Most of the time you don't see it. And of course it's when you just put on a new pair of socks! We never thought we'd have this problem at the shelter, until we did. Now we have to watch our step as to not step on Puddle.

We asked someone to describe Puddle, their reply..."Annoyingly affectionate".
Of course the source was another cat.

We checked the local forecast and there is 100% chance of Puddle in the near future.

If you want an incredibly affectionate and handsome companion, please give serious consideration to welcoming Puddle into your home.

Puddle is about 2 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Romeo

Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo ?

“I’m right here - on Kernsville Rd in Orefield !!!
Hi, I’m Romeo and I’m new to the Sanctuary at Haafsville. I was transferred from another overcrowded shelter. I’m enjoying the attention from the volunteers but I’m still a bit wary of the other cats. I would probably be happiest as the only cat in a home. I’m not looking for Juliet but rather a loving adopter - if your name happens to be Juliet, even better! I’m quite the character who is motivated by petting and treats. I am adorable, friendly, and curious. My shelter story will not be a romantic tragedy but an adoption triumph.

I’m 2 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Sancho

Sancho is a handsome and gentle giant. He is nervous at the shelter - he finds comfort in a cat hut but ventures out for pets and attention from the volunteers. He does not cause trouble with the other cats. Sancho will thrive in a quiet home with loving owners.

Sancho is 4 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Scar

Scar was a poor stray with a significant injury to his neck. Good samaritans tried to trap him for quite a while with no luck. Many were relieved when he was finally captured and got the medical attention he desperately needed. Scar has been recovering at the Sanctuary at Haafsville for many weeks. He is finally cleared for adoption.

Scar is a good boy who has very strong paternal instincts. He perks up when he sees kittens nearby. Scar would be thrilled to be adopted with a kitten. He also has been getting along with the other friendly free roaming adult cats. Scar is mellow and enjoys getting getting attention from volunteers and visitors. Scar is a good boy who has been through so much. He deserves a loving home where he can have safety, security and stability.

Scar is 5 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Xaden

Xaden is new to the Sanctuary at Haafsville. He came in as a nervous stray. In a short amount of time, Xaden has been making nice progress. He now trusts the volunteers and likes getting attention and petting. Xaden is making feline friends, especially his new cuddle buddy, Critter. He is having fun chasing the other cats and batting a spring toy across the room. Xaden is enjoying just being a cat. He is adorable, friendly, silly and affectionate. He will make a lovely addition to any home.

Xaden is 1 year old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped

Yoplait

Yoplait is a new arrival to the Sanctuary at Haafsville. He must have had a rough life before coming to the shelter. He is quiet and keeps to himself. Yoplait finds a comfortable place to observe and nap. He accepts brief petting and does not like to be picked up. He is not recommended for a home with small children as he can get swatty when he has had enough attention. He will appreciate a quiet, low activity home.

Yoplait is about 3 years old, healthy, neutered, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, litter trained and microchipped
