Over a year ago, we got a call from the police that a cat had been abandoned in the middle of the sidewalk in a carrier. After checking with neighbors and
making sure she didn't have a microchip, we welcomed her into our community.
We named her Shelly for Shel Silverstein because her sidewalk ended at the Sanctuary. Shelly, while adorable and affectionate with people, had a strong
dislike for other cats. At the shelter, she was very anxious. However, one of our volunteers saw what a great cat Shelly is and offered to foster her.
Shelly has absolutely thrived in her foster home! This is what her foster mom had to say. "She is so content to sit on your lap and snooze away. Her
favorite toy is a crinkly tunnel so she can hide and pounce. Unfortunately she doesn't do well around other cats. She desperately wants to be next to her person all day long but gets anxious when
other cats come near."
Shelly will make an incredible companion in a one cat household. Her foster home does have other cats and is not the right long term fit for
her.
After being abandoned and anxious, Shelly deserves the very best life! We know that one cat homes can be a challenge to find but we also believe that
Shelly's perfect home is out there. If you are looking for a cat to snuggle on your lap, make you laugh with her antics, and complete your family, Shelly is the girl for you!
Shelly is about 2 years old, healthy, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV / FIV, litter trained and microchipped.
Shelly's sidewalk led to the Sanctuary but her journey certainly hasn't ended. Her next path leads straight to her forever family!
